At last week's Homeschool Art Club, our topic was Cubism. We spent a lot of time talking about Picasso and other famous Cubist artists. Collage is a great way for kids to try their hand at cubism. Drawing or painting in the style of the cubists might be a bit too challenging and/or abstract for young kids, but by taking a "normal" looking picture and then cutting and rearranging it, kids can understand the basic idea of the skewed perspective that cubist artists captured. Try this lesson out at home!
